We often suggest that patients taking ED medications for the first time try both separately to see which works best for them with the fewest side effects. Ultimately, with prices as low as they are, there’s little financial risk in seeing which is best for our patient’s unique circumstances. Practo only provides reference source for common information on medicines and does not guarantee its accuracy or exhaustiveness.

Viagra must not be used where sexual activity is inadvisable (e.g. men with severe heart disease such as unstable angina or severe heart failure). It must also not be taken by patients who have ever had loss of vision because of a problem with blood flow to the nerve in the eye (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy or NAION). For the full list of restrictions, see the package leaflet.

If priapism is not treated immediately, penile tissue damage and permanent loss of potency may result [see Warnings and Precautions (5.2)]. Physicians should advise patients to stop taking PDE5 inhibitors, including VIAGRA, and seek prompt medical attention in the event of sudden decrease or loss of hearing. These events, which may be accompanied by tinnitus and dizziness, have been reported in temporal association to the intake of PDE5 inhibitors, including VIAGRA. It is not possible to determine whether these events are related directly to the use of PDE5 inhibitors or to other factors [see Warnings and Precautions (5.4) and Adverse Reactions (6.2)].

Caution is advised when PDE5 inhibitors are co-administered with alpha-blockers. PDE5 inhibitors, including VIAGRA, and alpha-adrenergic blocking agents are both vasodilators with blood pressure lowering effects. When vasodilators are used in combination, an additive effect on blood pressure may occur. Using this medicine with any of the following medicines may cause an increased risk of certain side effects, but using both drugs may be the best treatment for you.

Sildenafil should not be used together with other treatments for ED. This can result in an overdose which can be harmful to your health. You should leave a 24-hour gap between taking sildenafil and trying another ED treatment. Whilst the active ingredient will remain the same, the inactive ingredients may differ amongst brands.

Your own personal recommended dose of Viagra will take lots of things into account, including your past medical history and current health and medications. Viagra is not intended for daily use in men with erectile dysfunction. It should be taken only when needed, typically about one hour before sexual activity. Daily or exceeding the recommended dosage can increase the risk of side effects and complications.

Talk with your doctor if you have questions or concerns about your current dosage. If any of the above factors apply to you, talk with your doctor. They may lower your dosage to 25 mg of Viagra, instead of 50 mg. The information below describes dosages that are commonly used or recommended. But be sure to take the dosage your doctor prescribes for you. In some cases, doctors may adjust your dosage from those shown below.

Whilst you may think that the strongest Viagra pill is a good starting point to get your erections back on track, this isn’t the case. Sildenafil 100mg is the highest dosage on offer to treat ED. But don’t go thinking that you need the highest dose in order to have the hardest erections, because that isn’t how it works.

There aren’t any foods that have been specifically reported to interact with Viagra. If you have any questions about eating certain foods with Viagra, talk with your doctor. If you have questions about whether you can take Viagra with an antidepressant, talk with your doctor. If you take one of the drugs listed above, tell your doctor if you feel dizzy or lightheaded, or faint after taking Viagra. If you’re interested in taking Viagra to treat PE, talk with your doctor.

Based on our interviews and focus groups with men who have used telehealth platforms like Blink Health for ED medications, we found that many had a similar story. Many participants described how ED symptoms started subtly and they began to notice an intermittent decline in erections but did not seek medical care right away. If you’re experiencing sexual dysfunction, taking Viagra won’t help to resolve your symptoms and could lead to harmful side effects. The medication isn’t licensed for use by women and could cause potentially serious health issues.
